The African bishops of The United Methodist Church (above) made their first collective financial contribution to Africa University in 2010, funding construction of a staff house. Ongoing contributions from the bishops include church-wide advocacy, involvement in university governance and student recruitment.
Trustees are in the forefront of generating resources for Africa University from within the African business community. Grace Muradzikwa and Patricia Madondo, (middle), are Methodist laypersons and major donors who engage others in supporting the institution’s growth.
As the pool and influence of its graduates expand, Africa University is also seeing growth in alumni contributions to its mission. Alumni, including Muteb Tshishinen and Abiba Shomari (left), used language skills gained or perfected at Africa University to generate a collective gift totaling around $27,000 in 2016.
